After Elizabeth creates unique, bespoke wedding dresses for unconventional and

non-traditional brides.

Hello, I'm Lisa! I work with brides who struggle to find a unique wedding dress, something a little bit different from the traditional bridal shop experience. I offer a bespoke dressmaking service; creating perfectly fitting, beautifully designed gowns that make you feel like the most amazing version of yourself, so you can be confident, comfy and all together awesome on your wedding day!

"All of my dresses are made in a little garden studio, deep in the heart of beautiful Oxfordshire. I cater for every single body type, shape and size! There are no standard sizes here, just yours!"

You can make an appointment to come and visit me in person, try on some dresses and talk all things wedding, or we can meet virtually or over the phone. I have made dresses for brides all over the UK and the world, so if you are not close enough to come and visit we can chat via email, WhatsApp or Zoom. I am able to offer a fully bespoke service, sending samples and sketches by post and conducting fittings remotely.

All of my dresses are made to measure and can be altered to suit your own unique style, this means you can change colours, fabrics, add sleeves, change skirt lengths, or just start from scratch and design your own bespoke gown.

I have been a bride myself, and know how frustrating it can be to know exactly what you want and not be able to find it, or to try on lots of beautiful gowns, but not have the one with all the perfect elements that make it; 'The ONE!'

I founded my business after my own search for a wedding dress back in 2010. I was really disheartened by the lack of choice and overwhelmed by the sea of ivory dresses I found in local bridal shops. I wanted colourful, quirky and something that showed my personality, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and make my own dress.

I trained as a seamstress at London College of Fashion and after graduating with a first class honours degree went to work in the costume industry, creating fantastical costumes for theatres all over the world. After creating my own wedding dress, which I assumed would be a one off, I started being asked to create more. My clients were in the same boat as I had been, they were looking for something a little bit different, a dress that wasn't a standard off the rack ivory frock, and a service that was a little more personal.

After Elizabeth is now my full time business. Creating bespoke wedding dresses is my passion and customer service is my number one priority!

I was taught to sew from a young age by my grandmother Elizabeth, who was herself a professional seamstress and teacher. Sewing and dressmaking quickly became my passion and then turned into my full time occupation.

When it came to naming my company I thought it was fitting to name it after the person who had taught me my craft and inspired me to follow my creative spirit, and so my company became 'After Elizabeth'.

I am so, so lucky to be able to do this job, to be able to make make my clients feel beautiful, confident and excited by what they are wearing, it really is the best job satisfaction I have ever had!
